Vlaka Heritages
Vlakas have developed a wide array of evolutionary features and behavioral traits that set them apart from one another.
Empathic Vlaka
Source Galaxy Guide pg. 171
You instinctively sense when the people around you are feeling strong emotions or inner conflict. You gain a +2 circumstance bonus to Perception checks to Sense Motive. If you aren't actively using Sense Motive on a creature who's enchanted, possessed, or subject to an emotion effect, the GM rolls a secret check, without the usual circumstance bonus and with a –2 circumstance penalty, for you to potentially notice the enchantment, possession, or emotion effect anyway.
Keen Sighted Vlaka
Source Galaxy Guide pg. 171
You have a particularly keen sense of vision, honed through generations of surviving on a world bathed in the dim light of a dying star. You gain darkvision.
Nomadic Vlaka
Source Galaxy Guide pg. 171
You live your life on the move, traveling the galaxy in an endless journey. You gain two additional languages of your choice, chosen from among the common and uncommon languages available to you. When you select the Multilingual skill feat, you gain three new languages instead of two.
Star Marked Vlaka
Source Galaxy Guide pg. 171
You witnessed the miraculous rebirth of the dying star Sota. Your coat or eyes are marked with starbursts that shine with the light of the stars. With a moment's thought, you can cause these star markings to shed bright light in a 40-foot radius (and dim light to the next 40 feet). This light has the light and occult traits. You can spark or extinguish this light using a single action, which has the concentrate trait. You can't activate this ability when you're beyond the energy of a sun or stars, such as in the Drift or on another plane of existence where these celestial bodies don't exist.
Winter Coat Vlaka
Source Galaxy Guide pg. 171
Your thick fur keeps you warm in cold places like Lajok. You gain cold resistance equal to half your level (minimum 1). You treat environmental cold effects as if they were one step less extreme (incredible cold becomes extreme, extreme cold becomes severe, and so on).
Versatile Heritages
Borai
Source Player Core pg. 85
You've returned from the brink of death as a borai— at once both living and undead. You gain the borai and undead trait, in addition to the traits from your ancestry. Unlike other undead, you don't gain void healing. You're healed by vitality effects and damaged by void damage, as if you were a living creature. Likewise, you can be stabilized, healed, and brought back to life as if you were a living creature, save that you always return to life in your normal undead state (as a borai). You gain low-light vision, or you gain darkvision if your ancestry already has low-light vision. You can choose from borai feats and feats from your ancestry whenever you gain an ancestry feat.
Prismeni
Source Player Core pg. 89
You have an innate connection to the Drift. You gain the prismeni trait, in addition to the traits from your ancestry. While you're in the Drift, you can automatically pinpoint the location of Drift beacons, Drift lanes, Drift engines, and other Drift-related technology within a 100-mile radius. If you're Piloting a starship that doesn't have a Drift engine, you can serve as a connection between the Drift and that starship. This is a 1-minute activity that has the concentrate trait, and it allows the starship you're Piloting to enter or exit the Drift. Once within the Drift, the starship travels via conventional thrusters, as normal. When you get a critical failure on a Piloting check to Navigate or Plot Course through the Drift, you get a failure instead. You gain low-light vision, or you gain darkvision if your ancestry already has low-light vision. You can choose from prismeni feats and feats from your ancestry whenever you gain an ancestry feat.
